- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup mini peanut butter cups, chopped
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped peanuts (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Cake Base:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add milk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely.
- Make the Peanut Butter Filling:
- In a bowl, mix creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and milk until the mixture is smooth and spreadable.
- Once the cake has cooled, spread the peanut butter filling evenly over the top.
- Prepare the Chocolate Ganache:
- Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
- Remove from heat and pour over the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl.
- Let it sit for about 5 minutes, then stir until smooth.
- Pour the ganache over the peanut butter layer, letting it drip down the sides.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Sprinkle chopped mini peanut butter cups and peanuts over the top.
- Drizzle caramel sauce for extra flavor.
- Let the cake set for about an hour before slicing.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
- If the ganache becomes too thick to pour, gently reheat it over a double boiler.
- Experiment with different nut butters for a unique twist.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
