A comforting and delicious hearty beef and shell pasta recipe perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
- 500g beef, cut into chunks
- 250g shell pasta
- 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, sliced (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (for garnish)
Instructions

Season beef chunks with salt and pepper.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook shell pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the beef chunks and sear until brown on all sides. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
Add crushed tomatoes, beef broth, oregano, and basil. Stir to combine.
Return the beef to the skillet. Lower the heat and let the sauce simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the beef is tender.

Stir in the heavy cream and cooked shell pasta. Mix well to coat the pasta and beef with the sauce.
Cook for an additional 5 minutes until everything is heated through.

Serve the pasta in bowls.
Garnish with fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.

- For extra flavor, deglaze the skillet with a splash of red wine after searing the beef.
