A delicious and easy recipe for Italian sausages cooked with bell peppers and onions.
Ingredients

- 1 pound Italian sausages (sweet or spicy)
- 2 medium red bell peppers, sliced
- 2 medium green bell peppers, sliced
- 1 large yellow onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (for heat)
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (for tang)
Instructions
- Preheat a large skillet over medium heat with olive oil until shimmering.
- Add the Italian sausages to the skillet and brown on all sides for about 6 minutes.
- Remove the sausages temporarily and add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the pan. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Return the sausages to the skillet, slice them into bite-sized pieces, and season with salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
- Cook everything together for another 5 minutes until heated through. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar before serving if desired.

- This dish is great served over rice or with crusty bread.
